A Quest is an optional mission given to you by a Non-Player Character. Quests can earn a player a variety of rewards, which commonly include penya, experience and items. They can involve killing a certain number of a type of monster, collecting items and speaking to non-player characters. Quests can only be obtained from non-player characters which have a yellow exclamation mark hovering above them. Non-'s from whom you have accepted a quest will have a grey question mark; this will turn yellow once you have completed the quest and can claim your reward.
Quests generally take the form of:
- Accept quest from quest giver.
- Obtain item(s) and/or defeat monster(s).
- Turn in quest, possibly obtain reward(s) and/or another quest.
[edit] Types of Quests
There are several types of quests:
- Office Quests
- These types of quests have no relationship between each other, other than killing different types of monsters to collect their quest items. Office quests reward you with penya and experience.
- General/Story Quests
- These types of quests vary the most, the can be single, independent quests or be chain quests that follow one after the other. These also provide the the most varied rewards.
- Dungeon Quests
- These are chain quests, one chain for each dungeon, which involve the player exploring that dungeon and fighting its monsters.
- Job Quests
- These are chain quests which must be completed for your character to gain any more experience and switch classes.
