PK

From Flyff Wiki

PKing is an abbreviation for Player Killing, the act of killing another player outside of the battle arena. The only server in which you can PK in is now Demian. Demian, as well as being the PK server, yields double the EXP and drops per monster. On this server players may attack and kill one another, with the only restraint being that they must not be below level 21. Inside towns are also Guardian NPCs, who will attack any players who have a red name (explained later) on sight, but often miss.

FlyFF uses a point-based system for PK, with two counts. The first is 'PK', and the second is 'disposition'. All characters start out with 0 disposition and PK, which both increase when the character attacks or kills a character with a white name. The color of the players' names also change depending on recent PK activity. Here is a table which explains which actions yield which results:

Your name color Opponent's name color Action Penalty
White White Attack Pink name, 16 seconds
White White Kill PK+1, Disposition increases, Red name
White White Debuff Pink name, 8 seconds
White White Buff/Heal No penalty

If a character with a red name is killed, random items are dropped from their inventory, including equipped items. The higher the amount of PKs, the more items dropped. Please note that at 1 or 2 pks, no items will be dropped. Also, anyone who dies with negative karma loses 10% EXP and is spawned at the priest of confession of the continent they are on if they have disposition left. Disposition can be removed by either dying or gaining exp.

An NPC named Priest of Confession issues the confession quest, in which a player can get rid of PKs by training with an angel. The player must first either buy an angel from another player or make one using several sunstones and moonstones. While using an angel, no EXP can be gained. There are four types of angels: Red, requiring one level's worth of EXP; Green, requiring 60% of one level's worth of exp; Blue, requiring 30% of one level's worth of EXP; and White, requiring 10% of one level's exp.
