Masquerpet

A Masquerpet (also commonly called a monster or mob) is an NPC that wanders around a set area, with other Masquerpets of its kind. Their names are displayed in yellow or red above their heads. Players can attack Masquerpets, either to gain items and experience, or to further a quest. A handful out of every pack of Masquerpet will actually attack without provocation. These Masquerpets are called "aggros", and have red names above their heads instead of yellow.

It is often claimed that 'Masquerpet' is a synonym for other terms, such as 'Monster' or 'Mob'. While it is true that the terms are often used interchangeably, Masquerpet is actually a much less specific term that only refers to an entire species (such as 'Fefern'), whereas 'Mob' or 'Monster' can refer to sub-species (such as '1st Class Fefern').
